Circular Launches Ring 3 Series Featuring Contactless Payments and Vibration Alerts on the Finger
On Thursday, smart ring manufacturer Circular introduced its new Ring 3 series, featuring both a Pro variant and a Slim choice. Each of these smart rings is equipped with an integrated NFC chip for seamless contactless payments, along with vibrating alerts for alarms and reminders, among other functionalities.
The Ring 3 Pro presents a more streamlined design compared to its predecessor and includes FDA-cleared ECG for AFib detection, tracking of blood pressure trends, glucose monitoring, advanced sleep analysis, and extensive biometric tracking. Users can enjoy up to 12 days of battery life, a notable increase from the seven-day lifespan of the earlier model.

The Slim version is lighter and thinner than the Pro model, offering basic health and wellness tracking features in a compact form, including metrics for sleep, heart rate, HRV, SpO₂, skin temperature, and daily activity. It boasts a battery life of up to 10 days.
The announcement of the Circular Ring 3 series comes during an intensified competitive period in the smart ring industry, following the releases of the Oura Ring 5 and RingConn Gen 3.
“We recognize that not everyone desires every health feature,” said Circular CEO Amaury Kosman in a company announcement shared with TechCrunch via email. “Many consumers are simply looking for a well-designed, stylish smart ring that provides essential wellness insights and hassle-free contactless payments. That’s why we developed the Circular Ring 3 Slim—a lighter, more streamlined option that maintains the convenience of secure NFC payments while delivering the fundamental health tracking features that many users seek in an impressively compact design.”
The on-finger vibrations available on both models can serve various functions, including silent wake-up alarms, medication reminders, crucial health notifications, and guided breathing sessions.

Both Ring 3 models are constructed from titanium steel, offer 50-meter water resistance, and support wireless charging. They will be available in sizes ranging from 6 to 14. Similar to the Ring 2, the new smart rings will be offered in gold, rose gold, silver, and black.
Circular has indicated that pricing and preorder details for both smart rings will be revealed in the upcoming months, with the rings expected to launch in early 2027.
