Pangram’s Max Spero Explains Why AI Detection is More Challenging Than ‘Real or Fake’
The internet is facing a trust crisis, not solely due to social media platforms overflowing with AI-generated clutter. Now, AI-created content—including text and images—has started to infiltrate job applications, product reviews, and even insurance claims, prompting both platforms and users to contend with what is authentic.
In response to this challenge, several startups have emerged in recent years to establish the essential “trust layer” for the internet, with Pangram being a notable example. This startup recently secured $9 million for its AI detection technology and formed a collaboration with Substack, which is implementing Pangram’s technology to inform readers about which of their favorite authors utilize AI in crafting their newsletters. Additionally, Pangram has introduced a new tool for detecting AI-generated images.
Tune in as Pangram co-founder and CEO Max Spero appears on TechCrunch’s Equity podcast to explore the potential of AI detection tools and discuss the distinction between AI-assisted and AI-generated content.
